GUY SEBASTIAN BRINGS SOUL TO AUSTRALIA WITH HIS MEMPHIS ALBUM. THE TOUR WILL COME TO WOLLONGONG'S REGENT THEATRE TUESDAY 4TH MARCH 2008. Purchasers of ‘A’ Grade or Soul Lounge tickets will be given the opportunity to get a unique tour experience.

Guy Sebastian has just returned from Memphis where he recorded his new album, The Memphis Album which includes classics like ‘Soul Man’, ‘In The Midnight Hour’, ‘Knock On Wood’, ‘Respect Yourself’ and ‘(Sittin’ On) The Dock Of The Bay’ and to celebrate this very special release Guy will hit the road and tour nationally with the band that defined soul music in the 1960s, The MG’s. Guy will perform with original members of the MG’s nationally in theatres and concert halls in February & March 2008. Tickets to the Memphis Tour will go on sale Monday 12th November.

Guy was fortunate enough to have such musical legends play on The Memphis Album, as many of the musicians who played on the album actually wrote and recoded the original versions of the songs with the likes of Elvis Presley, Otis Redding, Sam & Dave, Al Green, Wilson Pickett & Booker T. The MG’s band are responsible for soul music as we know it today.

While Guy was recording the album in Memphis, the band agreed to travel to Australia and go on the road with Sebastian to showcase his new album to Australian audiences. Musicians include, Steve Cropper, who co produced the album with Guy and is best known for co-writing ‘In The Midnight Hour’, ‘Knock On Wood’, and ‘(Sittin’ On) The Dock Of The Bay’. Other musicians touring include Donald “Duck” Dunn, Steve Potts and Lester Snell.

The Memphis Tour Dates: Include Tuesday 4th March at the Wollongong Regent Theatre.

Purchasers of ‘A’ Grade or Soul Lounge tickets will be given the opportunity to get a unique experience the Memphis Tour and an insight of what it took to put together The Memphis Album and The Memphis Tour.
